Regarding cybercrimes there are many individual motives involved when performing these malicious attacks. While going through the various motives, I was able to rank them from the most sense to the least sense. I believe that the number one motive that most makes sense would be for money. I believe that cybercriminals ultimate motive is to be able to ensure that they can get big amounts of money for their personal desires. Such personal desires can include, paying bills, buying more Its equipment to continue hacking, or buying themselves an expensive car with that money. The second motive that most makes sense to me would be for recognition. The article provided for recognition demonstrates a perfect example of how Niblock was able to launch a DDOS assault against the website of a labor party candidate days before the 2019 general election. This gained him recognition in the media. Third I believe that revenge is the one that makes more sense due to certain hackers having a personal negative influence in their decision to harm the person for harming them such as revenge porn being an example. The fourth motive would be for entertainment reasons due to individuals finding the cyber world interesting. Them finding ways to gain certain access to certain things is found fascinating. The fifth individual motive would be political reasons. With politics comes many top secrete information making it a motive to see what the government information is about. Not only is that a motive but also countries have constant problems with one another and being able to hack and receive certain information gives them an opportunity to use that information for their advantage. The sixth reason that least made sense was for boredom. I do not think that because of boredom cybercrimes like child pornography is on the rise. I believe that these certain individuals have more issues involved besides just boredom. Lastly, I believe that multiple reasons as an individual motive is the least that makes sense for me. I believe that there is a primary reason why these hackers commit cybercrimes. Therefore, from most sense to least sense would be for money, then for recognition, then revenge, then political reasons, the boredom and lastly for multiple reasons.
