About Me

Hola! Me llamo es Lilli Curtin. Soy de Montpelier, Vermont pero yo vivo en Norfolk, Virginia. Mi especializacion en la universidad es criminal justice y sociology. Bienvenidos!

Some personal information about me! I am originally from Montpelier, Vermont but it is very cold there so I chose to go to school in the South. I am in a family of 6 and I am the oldest of 4 with tres hermanos. 2 hermanas y un hermano. I also have 2 dogs named Walter and Boomer they are standard poodles. I am a taurus and my birth day is in May. I tend to thrive in the spring so I am looking forward to this spring season approaching. Some passions of mine include social justice and cooking! Specifically I like to cook French and Italian cuisine, but can cook absolutely anything you ask! I also love aimlessly scrolling on Tik Tok. I mean hey i’m just being honest. Attached below you can find some images of my dogs, friends and family!

I have aspirations to go to law school after undergrad. I hope to be a criminal attorney but I am also open to whatever I may end up being interested in while studying the law. Overall, I am interested in society and the study of crime and its effect on this country.

I am taking this course not only because it is required for my major but also because I think learning Spanish is extremely important. Throughout this Introduction, to Spanish course, I have learned a lot and I am excited to share what I have learned. To be more specific, Spanish is important to my majors in a number of different ways. First, collectively it is important because there are a number of different jobs out there that require knowing Spanish and being able to communicate with people who speak Spanish not only on a coworker and peer level but also with clients or anyone that you may come across. For my criminal justice major, Spanish can be imperative working in the courts or with law enforcement it is important that there can be someone there to translate/ be a voice for anyone that needs it. Same with several other languages. Lastly, I would be very interested in traveling to Spanish-speaking countries as well as learning more about Latin and its trickle-down effects on other languages, and having some background in Spanish is helpful in that regard.
