About Me

When it comes to my musical background, it starts off young when I started taking piano lessons in 1st grade and continued to take them into 6th grade. After that, I gave up on the piano and was just involved in choir all throughout middle school and played sports. Once I got to high school, I started guitar lessons and taking voice lessons on the side to just better my voice. While in high school, I was attending my youth group at church and I had no intention of being involved until we got a new youth pastor, and his wife had a music performance degree and wanted to start a youth worship team. His wife got word that I played the piano and slowly forced me into doing it and then one day she overheard me singing and decided to stick a microphone in front of me. From then on, I became heavily involved in my church’s youth group worship team where I was the worship leader, playing lead guitar and doing lead vocals.

After graduating high school, I got more involved with church music and began doing worship leading for the main church and several other churches that would ask. I began studying music at Thomas Nelson Community College where I received my associate degree in Liberal Arts with a specialization in Music. I did not always want to study music and it took me awhile to fully accept the idea of being a music teacher, but the more I did worship leading and voice lessons, the more I fell in love with the idea of teaching others about my love of music. While at community college, I worked as a preschool teacher the whole 4 years while attending community college, so I have a little bit of teaching experience under my belt.

When I am not in school or doing something for school, I am always with my family or hanging out with my nephews. I love baking as well and I am very obsessed with anything tie dye so I am constantly making tie dye shirts or blankets for people who want them.
