Cyber technology and infrastructure have been a fast-growing field of study in the past century and as new technology is being made and updated every day it can be hard to keep up with all the policies that govern it. Even still, it is important that it must be governed as pretty much every nation has at least some reliance on technology, either for trading, communication or military. Much like companies both large and small, nations keep many of their resources and knowledge online, and the US is no different. Suffice it to say, if the US government was somehow hacked and we were unable to have access to the information and technology that we use in every aspect of life, it would be a disaster.

I believe that great care should be taken to make sure that cyber policy and infrastructure should be kept updated at all times due to the sensitive nature of security, and especially cyber security. Since so much important information is kept in online databases and software, it is very important to take the security of the cyber space very seriously. One way to do this is to merge the field of criminal justice and cyber security together, since having trained professionals and researchers that are skilled in understanding both criminals and technology would be very helpful for the two fields. Many crimes are committed over the computer now, and trying to predict and recover from being hacked is somewhat similar to trying to predict what factors contribute to criminal behavior.

I think that in the next few years there will be many criminologists whose main focus is cyber-crime, and they may even be able to predict the factors that may lead to becoming a hacker, the same way criminologists today aim to understand the reasons for criminal behavior.
