Just after I transferred to Old Dominion University after my time at Longwood University, I soon began interested in Political Science and the ethics posed in society that go with that.  I began my first few steps into political science in the Spring of 2022 in which I took a Sex, Drugs and Alcohol course which shaped my view on the history of and influence all 3 of those had in past society and modern.  This gave me the opportunity to branch out and see what else this interesting topic could be about and that led me to taking a State and Local Government class that allowed me to explore both my major and minor; Cyber security and Politics.

During the semester this course taught me much about the local policies that affect our everyday lives and the ways that these polices are made and upheld.  We delve into the politics of localities and how they interfere with Federal policies, as well as budgeting and funding projects and campaigns, giving me insight to only something I knew surface knowledge about.  We were tasked with selecting a state and problem in which we would draft a reform for and we hypothetically solve.  I was able to combine my two fields of study as previously mentioned and wrote about the threats to cyber infrastructure in the state of Wisconsin.  Being the economic powerhouse of all things dairy, the lack of up to date technology and security have have a huge impact on making those continue to stay open, which could possibly eliminate jobs or much more.  I will also include my study I did on an Ohio house bill that was discussed when mentioning the deliverance of alcohol to ones estate, as previously I chose Ohio and was prompted to write about alcohol laws affecting the state.
