Writing Reflection Three
Writing Reflection Three-
This part of the semester was pretty eventual, even for the class of UNIV 150. I took many quizzes about different chapters. Most of the chapters were about the ways to write certain things or ways to correctly source articles and topics. I used MLA format, APA format, and Chicago Manual style, or I learned about them at least. I also learned where the formats are used. Like Chicago is used with historical documents, MLA format is used for English documents. APA is used for informational documents and papers. It is severely important to cite your sources or else you can be hit with plagiarism. You can also be charged criminally with plagiarism if you plagiarize with a certain article and completely steal the information from someone else’s article. All throughout this part of the semester though, I wrote even better essays than the last half of the semester. For the 3rd essay, I wrote about Chopsticks, the disposable ones, and why they pollute our environment. The article was about this topic and I was asked to give an opinion on it. It was fun to write about because it was such a weird topic and fun to read. Overall, this was a great and fun part of this class and was surprised compared to the boring parts of the first part of the semester.
Journal 11- I read an article about World War One and how it started, it was very interesting. Around the 1910s, the Archduke Franz Ferdinand from Serbia was assassinated by Gavrillo Princip of Austria-Hungary. The Serbians were severely angry at this, creating a massive Alliance system. Russia was the first to back up Serbia, then Germany backed up AH, then France backed up Russia, then all of the crazy declarations started to commence war. No fighting occurred except for minor altercations in all the European countries. Then around 1911, war commenced, complete all-out, country on country war. This would later kill millions of people, all because of one important person being killed by a terrorist.
Journal 12- Pollution is an annoyance all around the world. We all see trash on the side of the street and regret passing it by. The truth is that 80 million straws and other items of trash are thrown away in wrong places every single day. Instead of keeping the straw and lid on your fountain drink cup from McDonald’s, get rid of the lid and straw, keep it at the restaurant. Why? You will never unwrap it! If you drink without a straw or lid, you save on average 13 marine animals! So get to getting rid of straws and lids for good!
Journal 13- Soccer is played by over one billion people worldwide. Everyone around the world kicks a soccer ball wherever they are, wherever they want to play it. The fluidity of the sport is so great. But it is often different in different parts of the world. The U.S. system of soccer is quite different compared to the U.K.’s system. The UK’s is more physical and there are typically more days during the week devoted to soccer practice. In America, 3 days max, and a game on the week. Even though this may seem a lot still, Europeans care so much more about soccer than Americans. It is just true fact, Americans can care about it a lot, but they are no where near the level of care or Europeans. Overall, Europeans love soccer, Americans love football.
Journal 14- Drone delivery is on the horizon everybody. And who will be the first person to create such a weird and odd feat? The company of Amazon. Amazon delivers packages worldwide and releases its own products as well. The Amazon Kindle is a tablet that has HD quality and will forever change the Tablet business. The packages Amazon delivers can be absolutely anything. You can typically find foods, drinks, metals, kitchen appliances, home decor, gaming systems, and so much more! Amazon is the world in one website.
Journal 15- Where will everyone live once this beautiful Earth is blown to bits by pollution and there is no land to live on? Mars, the red planet, the small planet, that is where planetary experts expect our next home as humans to be. Mars is a small iron-based planet that has no oxygen whatsoever. But it has evidence of water being their once and the planet has polar ice caps. So oxygen once was on the planet. Expert planting and experiencing oddly cool life will be hard to get used to, especially in spacesuits, but you will be the first to do many things.
