Technical Communication & Documentation

Security Incident Reports

This artifact demonstrates my ability to document real-world security events in a clear, structured, and actionable format. In my HBSS and help desk roles, I routinely analyzed alerts, identified potential threats, and documented the incident lifecycle including detection, impact assessment, containment steps, and recommended mitigation strategies. My reports followed established Navy and DoD documentation standards, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and traceability for leadership and technical teams. (Below is a typical incident report for Data Loss Prevention that may occur in a network, preventing malicious actors from physically attaining data through things like USB powered devices.)

Research Papers

My academic research papers reflect my ability to engage with complex cybersecurity topics, synthesize scholarly sources, and present well‑structured arguments supported by evidence. These papers required me to evaluate peer‑reviewed literature, analyze policy frameworks, and integrate interdisciplinary perspectives including law, ethics, computer science, and organizational behavior. (Below is a recent paper written in regards to the U.S. 2023 National Cybersecurity Strategy including scholarly journals.)

Knowledge Base Use

This artifact reflects my ability to use technical documentation and knowledge bases to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues efficiently. In roles such as HBSS administration and NMCI help desk support, I frequently relied on internal documentation, vendor resources, and DoD technical guides to diagnose problems, validate configurations, and implement solutions. (Below is a snippet of Trellix’s (formerly McAfee) knowledge base which was used in part to troubleshoot and deliver standard configurations)
