CYSE 301
Cybersecurity Techniques and Operations
In this course we used tools and techniques to secure and analyze large computer networks and systems. I also explore and map networks using a variety of diagnostic software tools, learn advanced packet analysis, configure firewalls, write intrusion detection rules, perform forensic investigation, and practice techniques for penetration testing.
One of the assignments that stood was the Wi-fi and password cracking assignment. This was one of the last assignments I ended up doing. I had to decrypt two different files attacking them. I ended up decrypting both of two different ways using aircrack. I used wire shark to access the files. I saw things I could not see before like the arp and the dns for them. The second part wanted us to perform a dictionary attack to find the password. I used an air crack to do that and then I decrypted the traffic.

This was something I have never done before, and this was really in depth. This was something I read about with password cracking, and it was cool to do it. I like the hands-on things.
Here is the full assignment if you are curious about it.
