ATA5

For assignment 5 I was instructed to do 5 nice things for strangers over the course of a week. I was to then determine if I was going to make it a repertoire of my behavior. This assignment made me realize that these random acts of kindness to anyone (even strangers) is already a repertoire of my behavior. I am a very caring person so when I was presented with this assignment, I didn’t have to go out of my way to do anything nice for anyone because I am used to doing that already. This made me realize truly how caring I am for people but I learned that I need to be careful with who I do help. Some people may take advantage of my kindness and use me for things and I am just too nice to realize it. This assignment definitely opened my eyes to how nice and caring I actually am, but has also made me realize I should be more cognizant of the level caring and favors I do give out so Im not taken advantage of.

ATA4

Assignment 4 was designed for me to explore the different types of love I have experienced in one of my past relationships. I had no idea there were this many different types of love but as took the styles of love questionnaire and broke down each one, I realized that the different love categories were very present in my past relationship. This assignment helped me depict parts of our relationship that I had questions about how it wasn’t going as well as it could be. This assignment made me a true believer in if you are friends first the relationship is more likely to last.

I chose this visual representation of a heart because there are many layers to relationships and loving. Each of these layers of the the heart signifies the different types of love as the love gets deeper and deeper.

ATA3

Assignment 3 was centered around racism. We were to watch a snip of comedian Michael Richard during one of his shows when he went on a tirade spewing out racist slurs and names. While watching this we were to determine if we think he was being racist or not, trying to inflict harm, and predict weather this was coming from a deep seeded hatred. This assignment opened my eyes to an incident I honestly had no idea ever happened. Completing this assignment put me into the position of prospect theory in the way that letting people suffer from racist comments is a lot worse than me standing up and saying something. Over the last few years racism has been brought to light more so which is a good thing because certain things are being exposed that need to change.

I chose this visual representation because I liked how each letter was a different color. Racism is something that can happen upon any race whether someone is black, brown, or white. Racism is present with every race and it needs to be eliminated.

Assignment 2 was designed to allow us to reflect upon photos of ourselves or things in our lives that represent who we are. This assignment shined a new light onto the way I look at photos now. I never really viewed them as a way to represent who someone is, especially myself. I am not a big fan of photos being taken of myself, but I love taking photos of other people and/or things. The one thing I learned and took away from this assignment was the fact that people can post photos to social media that paint a false advertisement of who they really are. This assignment has made me pay more attention to the photos I see on social media and the photos I have and/or take and really reflect whether or not is an accurate representation of others or myself. Instagram and facebook have a lot of self-promotion going on. People post photos expecting others to see it and react to it in a certain manner. Some people just like the photo and some may like it and leave a comment on it.  Facebook now has a selection of different expressions on how you can react to someone’s post. This is allowing a great amount of self-promotion.

I chose this visual representation because I think it is a good reflection on the different words that can be used to describe photos that are used to represent who I am. Not only my photos but other people’s photos on social media, always draw a reaction out of people who see them and this visual representation shows some words that may come to people’s mind when looking at ones photos.
