Top Artifact 3
The artifact that engaged me the most was the “Subjective Happiness Scale (SHS)”. I liked this activity the most because it was directly related to me and my happiness. The subjective happiness scale asked me questions about my overall happiness that I usually never get asked. It definitely took me some time to think about my answers because it was asking the hard deep questions. At the end of the activity I scored a 5.5, which is at the top of the average happiness score for most people who complete this activity.
The representative visual image I chose for this activity was an image of a beam balancing with a heart on one side and a roll of money on the other. The beam was sitting horizontal so it holds equal weight. This imagine explains me well in the way that I find equal happiness in love and money. I know money doesn’t buy happiness but it does relieve a lot of stress when I am financially stable and allows me to have certain experiences I may not be able to have if I weren’t fortunate enough to afford. Love is something that is hard to compare to any other kinds of happiness. Personally i’ve never felt a happiness as strong as I have felt with the feeling of love.
I chose this representative visual image because I am content with my happiness and what I have. The letters are different colors, sizes, and fonts which represents all of the different things I am content and happy with in my life.

Artifact 1
The artifact that engaged me the most was the “Self- and Other-Enhancement in Everyday Life” activity. I enjoyed it the most because I was able to put myself into the situation and complete the activity from my point of view. For this activity I was presented with 6 situations where I was to identify self enhancement and other enhancement strategies that I could use for each situation. I liked that the situations were relatable for students my age like going to an interview, meeting new boss, interview for an internship, and even meeting with a professor for the first time. These strategies made the activity more fun and engageable.
I learned the definition and meaning behind the terms self enhancement and other enhancement. Self enhancement is when you prepare yourself in such a way that you are presentable and put together. Some examples are grooming, dress code and personal hygiene. Other enhancement is when you do something specific to make someone else feel good or comfortable and like you more. For example, flattering someone, agreeing with someone, doing someone a favor, and asking others for advice. This activity expanded my knowledge because it forced me to differentiate between the two terms. They seem as if they could have the same meaning but now I know the difference between them and examples for each.
The visual image I used for this activity was a photo from google that showed someone at an interview. They are well dressed, nicely groomed, prepared with materials, and look engaged. https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.experis.com%2Fen%2Finsights%2Farticles%2F2021%2F05%2F25%2F20-tips-for-great-job-interviews&psig=AOvVaw1GKVOqJEqYa7oA4Laetlie&ust=1644257693236000&source=images&cd=vfe&ved=0CAsQjRxqFwoTCMitk8LX6_UCFQAAAAAdAAAAABAQ
