Over the course of this class I have learned many things that I will apply to real life. In the beginning of this class I was very excited to learn about the ways in which we form relationships with different people and the ways in which we understand one another. I have a much better grasp of the course objectives than when we first started this semester. This course has made me want to learn even more about Social Psychology. If I were to take this class again I would have taken hand written notes. I have grown academically over the last few months in the way that I have learned how to make a schedule (school work, work, social life, eat, sleep) and stick to it. Being an online student is tricky because you have to make your own schedule and hold yourself accountable for completing all of the course work for each class, but this semester I have found my groove finally. A skill that I have gained from this course is the action of self realization. A lot of the assignments and blogs I competed this semester, I was asked to compare certain ideas to another idea from another class or another instance in real life.

This visual representation, represents me as a student, daughter, friend, granddaughter, and sister, just starting to sprout and make it somewhere in the world. This class has helped shape me into a better version of myself and I will build off of that in my future especially in my academics.

Men and women both get on eachothers nerves. It’s inevitable. When in a relationship I think it is a little easier to get on your partners nerves and vice versa. There are many ways men and women get on eachothers nerves but I think the most common ones are miscommunication, dishonesty, and hardheadness. I find it most common that men upset women in the way that they are always in their own little world and have bad communication skills. Once in awhile you’ll find a man that is good with communication but most men have the reputation of being very oblivious. Women get on mens nerves in the way that they are hard headed and need everything to be their way. I find that to be pretty common in a lot of relationships.

Self-Regulation and Emotional Intelligence are closely related. Self regulation is the action of controlling your emotions. Emotional intelligence is the different ways one handles emotions. Emotional intelligence is very important to me because it is a big part of my personality. The different ways I handle my emotions are a direct reflection of who I am and how I act. An example of how I could improve my EQ is to not let myself get in my head and let negative thoughts like “I’m a failure or im not good enough” overtake my thinking. I need to work on not being so hard on myself.

Picture B represents a not credible source because it is kendall Jenner. It seems like she is doing this ad just to publicise herself more. This is her personal vendetta. Also she is just holding the closed pepsi can, not even drinking it.

Picture C represents an attractive source because Jennifer Aniston is a very popular actress that is well known and liked and attractive. She is advertising for aveeno lotion so people are more likely to buy aveeno lotion because they believe she uses it. I find this ad effective because it’s a tactic to get people to buy/use their product. It makes me wonder if she actually uses aveeno or not.

I 100% believe that music can make a strong bond for relationships, whether it be a friend, sibling, parent, cousin, or significant other. Music is very prominent thing in the world. I have noticed that most of my friends and I have the same music taste which allows us to connect on a deeper level. Sometimes we go on late night car ride “jam sessions” where we don’t even speak to each other, we just blast music and sing along. Music is such a beautiful thing that brings people together from so many different walks of life. As much as I agree with the saying “love makes the world go round” I thoroughly believe that music makes the world go round just as much as love does.

I believe that I am overall a great student when I try hard and apply myself. I will admit, during the beginning of my college years there were some classes that I didn’t apply myself that much and I know I could have done a lot better. I’m thankful that I can recognize that and not just jump to the conclusion of “i’m dumb”. I am very confident as a student and with that being said I scored a 3.8 on the General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSE). I believe this is a direct reflection of my grades and the amount of time I put toward completing my assignments to the best of my ability. There are definitely areas that I could improve with my schooling, like setting aside more time to study. That is my biggest weakness as a student. I know if I were to focus more on studying and practice different study tips, my confidence as a student would grow even greater.

This photo stuck out to me because it represents me as a student in the way that I use resources (books, laptops, handouts) and I complete assignments to the best of my ability.

There are multiple objectives of this course but the objective that will be personally useful to me in the future, is the process in which people perceive and attempt to understand others. Our entire lives are based on human interaction, understanding one another, and perceiving people and ideas. I am very anxious to learn about all of the course objectives and outlines. Even tho I am a psychology and sociology major, I think this class would be interesting for anyone in any major because it is the basic principles of human nature in how we interact with and understand others. Our lives are centered around the different relationships we form with other people. I hope to gain a better understanding of the ways behavior of an individual can be affected by others and the many topics that are imbedded into this course. In order for my own success to be reflected during this course, I plan to make a schedule for myself and set aside ample amount of time with my undivided attention on the course work so I am able to fully understand, learn, and integrate what I have learned into my own world.
