Engineers make cyber networks safer by developing security measures and testing them to make sure they are in working conditions. Meaning they run penetration test to simulate cyber attacks on said systems. This is to test what the systems can and cannot defend itself against. It is an excellent way to make sure the system is ready. They are also always trying to find new ways to protect and improve the already implemented systems. As engineers themselves are not only problems solvers but innovators. As an ex-engineer major, I can say it is a very tough task to pull off.
