Hi, my name is Lillian Whittaker, and I am a student at Old Dominion University studying Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice. I have always been interested in understanding people, especially the thought processes behind why we do the things we do. Psychology interests me because it allows me to better understand human behavior and what influences the decisions people make.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My interest in Criminal Justice started when I was younger. Some of my own experiences growing up and my experiences with the court system made me curious about how the justice system works and how it affects people’s lives. Those experiences helped shape my interest in understanding crime, behavior, and the people involved in the criminal justice system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cybersecurity is a newer interest for me. I did not originally plan on pursuing cybersecurity, but I began to realize how important it is and how much of it happens behind the scenes. Technology is a major part of everyday life, and cybersecurity plays an important role in protecting people, information, and organizations. I am looking forward to learning more about the field and understanding how it connects with my other interests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the future, I want to pursue a career where I can help people. I have always felt that my purpose is to use what I have experienced in my own life to help others. I am still exploring exactly what career path I want to take, but I know that I want my work to have a positive impact on people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my friends and continuing to learn and adapt to my new way of life. I became paralyzed at 16, which has given me a different perspective on life and has taught me to adapt to challenges and keep moving forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of my goals for college is not only to earn my degree, but to actually understand and use what I learn. I want to be able to take the knowledge I gain from my classes and apply it to real life situations and even everyday conversations. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
