Job Relevant Skills

Management

I am a great leader and manager. I have experience as a business co-Manager for 4 years and a substitute teacher for 2 years. I’m confident in time management, resources management, and team management. An example of that is I always take on the leadership role and manage the working time and the assignment of each team members, then I will double/triple check on the work of myself and my teammate to make sure there is no flaw of the work before turning it into the supervisor.

Adaptability

As a substitute teacher, I must be flexible and have the ability to adapt to the work conditions. For example, many times teachers did not leave the lesson plan back, therefore I have to come up with a new plan and have my students under control. I also can work with different personalities/types of students/teachers.

Public Speaking

I think no matter what career path I am choosing: Linguist, Language Supervisor, or Community Out Reach, public speaking is the most important skill.
As a linguist, I will at some point need to be an interpreter in front of a large crowd.
As a language supervisor, I will need to hold meetings to send out messages, ideas, corrections to my team.
As a Community Outreach Coordinator, I will need to hold a lot of public events and meetings.
Therefore, it is important that I am really confident in my public speaking ability. It is the most effective way to get my message/ideas across the audience and show my leadership ability.
