Description: This course introduces the basic concepts and technologies of digital forensics. We learned about the fundamental techniques and tools utilized for collecting, processing, and preserving digital evidence on computers, mobile devices, networks, and cloud computing environments. We participated in written reports for digital forensic analysis’ as well as modules and labs that helped us better understand the processes and procedures of digital forensic scientists.
Reflection: In this course, I was able to participate in virtual lab assignments that would walk through a “real life” scenario on the processes of digital forensics. I thought this course was really interesting because it showed a different side of technology than I was used to studying. Digital forensics is extremely important to any investigations involving technology and requires many different skills and abilities. In this course, I can say that I learned a lot about the digital decomposition of technology in order to find specific hidden information or any type of cyber crime.
