Course Description: This course examines ethical issues relevant to computing and information technology, including: privacy; freedom of speech and content control on the Internet; individual and social responsibility; cybersecurity; cybercrimes; social impact of computers and other digital technologies; and ethical obligations of IT professionals. Students will gain a broad understanding of central issues in cyberethics and the ways that fundamental ethical theories relate to these core issues.

Reflection: In this course I have learned and applied different moral theories and concepts and have applied them to real cyber ethical issues and topics this world faces. One of the interesting topics we discussed was our case analysis on professional ethics. In this case analysis it was really eye opening as to how much of ethical standard is left up to our interpretation. One of the topics that came up was the issue of loyalty between employees and employers. I thought this discussion was interesting because a lot of people go through this dilemma all the time. The dilemma of if they should leave their position for a different one because on one hand its a nice opportunity for them but on another their boss has been so kind to them over the years so they might feel a sense of loyalty. Discussions like this have really opened my mind to different views of morals and ethics.
