Have you identified your writing strengths and weaknesses?

I have a couple strengths and weaknesses. Some of my strengths are making my arguments clear and fully discussing my points.some of my weaknesses are punctuation, verb forms, shift in person and subject/verb agreement.

Do you have a plan to address your writing concerns?

My plan to address my writing concerns is to study my weaknesses and hopefully understand them. I need to quiz myself and become familiar with my weaknesses.

Are you comfortable with your transition into a new educational setting?

I am some what comfortable with my transition into college. Writing is not my specialty and I do not like the class because I feel everything is thrown into my face. I would like if I am in an introductory course I do not feel as if I am taking a 300 level course; and that is how I feel about Univ. 150.

What was your biggest challenge as a writer? what kind of critiques have you received from teachers, friends?

As a writer I did not think I struggles the much until I received my score from the WSPT. I think my biggest challenge would have to be is the structure of the sentence. or even coming up with what I am going to write. The feed back from my teachers and friends would be small things like punctuation. While writing it is hard for me to stay on topic. I want to work on good sentence structure and I want writing to be a breeze.

While preparing for college, what did you expect?

While preparing for college, i had no idea what was to be expected. Was I packing too much? too little? I was scared about how my classes would be like and finding out where they were. I did not realize the freedom I would receive going into college, but I quickly learned I had to basically fin for myself. The classes I am taking now are not the classes I prepared myself for. I did not do so well on the WSPT or my Alek placement test. I was upset at the time because I was studying all summer. But I knew what I had to do and the classes I have now will help me become a better writer and an engineer.

What classes are you taking now?

I am taking 15 credit hours at Old Dominion University. Most of my classes are lectures and writing. In my writing class we write journals and essays. In math we take down notes and a little bit of discussion. My chemistry class is a lecture and we have a lot of discussion because a lot of us do not understand material. In AutoCAD there is a lot of listening and speaking because we help each other out. Some people like myself have MacBooks and autocad does not really work so we have to help each other out. Human Geography is a lecture and we take a lot of notes and reading outside of class. My classes are packed with assignments and other things but I will push myself to get everything done.

What is your favorite sport and why?

My favorite sport is softball. I have played softball ever since I was little and I love it. I played softball in middle and high school, I was a freshman playing on the varsity softball team. I was captain of my team for 3 years. Being captain helped me be a leader for my team and I always made sure I pushed my team to be the best they could be. For two years in a row we went undefeated and as a captain I was proud of my team. I loved the hard work outs and getting to play on the field, and most of all bonding with my teammates.

Does social media affect users negatively ?

I do not think social media affects users negatively to an extent. If their whole like is stuck in their phone and they do not get out, then yes I do think it affect them negatively. People who are insecure will find people and or things on social media to make them feel good about themselves.
