I have observed my writing techniques and from the beginning of class to the end I would say I have improved. Writing has gotten easier for me and I am able to work on my sentence structure. The problems I had during the beginning of class was shifts in person and punctuation. Now I am confident in where I need to put commas or semi colons. I have taken quizzes on shift in person, and I have an okay understanding of it, I am not totally comfortable with it.  I have learned to have an outline of my essay then write it and check it over. When looking over my essays I check to see if my sentences flow together and if it makes sense. ePortfolio has not played a big role to me only because I used it when something needed to be turned it. Honestly it was a pain at first because I did not know how to use it. Now that I know how to use it, it is not that bad. Being in Univ. 150 has helped me with planning and writing essays not just in Univ. 150 but in other classes too. A big part of being able to write good essays is my professor. She has helped me with  my essays and journals. Writing journals have helped me when writing an essay because I already have at most one and a half paragraphs that needs tweaking. My professor has provided me with good topics to write about and I have a good amount of time to get it done. I have gone to writing reviews and I have had my roommates look over my essays to help me. I can not wait until I am in English 110.

Journal 11

What is your favorite movie of all time?

 

My favorite movie is The Polar Express because I love Christmas movies and the movie tells an amazing story. When I was little I would watch it every Christmas eve. Even though I am 20, I still watch The Polar Express. Tom Hanks is an amazing actor and I admire all of his work.

 

Journal 12

What is your favorite month and why?

 

My favorite month is November-December. One reason it is my favorite is because that means the end of the semester is approaching. Another reason those are my favorite months is because family comes for the holidays. Having my family around makes me excited because I love my family and we always have a good time with each other.

How do you feel during a thunderstorm?

 

Sometimes I feel scared when there is a thunderstorm because I think trees will fall on my house or our power might go out and I would not know what to do in that kind of situation. Other times when I have someone that can comfort me there with me I feel safe. Sometimes I watch the lightning show and it is beautiful. It just depends on who I am with during a thunderstorm.

When you are angry, how do you look?

 

When I am angry everyone knows when I am because the look on my face. I do not want anyone to talk to me. I would rather be left alone and I let that be known. If someone gets on my bad side I let them know. I look like I am just staring at something and I look blank.

Which do you prefer, a shower or a bath? Why?

 

I prefer a shower because when I am dirty and take a bath it is basically sitting in my own dirt. Taking a shower is easier because all of the dirt is getting rinsed off and I am not sitting in it. Also, bath water gets cold over time, in the shower I can have hot water all the time.
