When it comes to emotional intelligence, self-regulation is the ability to control impulses and moods. Self-regulation is also the ability to think before you act when you are emotionally involved in a situation. Emotional intelligence, in my opinion, means the ability to control and manage emotions so you can relieve stress or learn to stay positive in frustration situations.
I could improve my EQ by first, observing how I react to people. There are times I tend to react before I think, and I end up saying or doing things I may regret later. I also need to take the time to examine how I react in stressful situations. By examining how I react in stressful situations, I would be doing a self-evaluation which could ultimately impact how I display my EQ all around.
