Artifact #3

The archive I chose to places as my tops artifact is Module 12 archive. This archive was about Aggression and I had to read over 25 statements and circle each statement I felt that demonstrated aggression. Out of the 25 statements that I was given I chose 10. I really like this because I got the opportunity to determine what I thought was aggression and what i didn’t think was aggression base on the statement that I was given. Secondly I like this archived item the most was I got to see if my thoughts, beliefs, and definition match up with other when it came to aggression. And lastly I liked that I could be made aware that aggression can come in many ways if we are talking about harm to living vs nonliving things, actual damage vs no physical damage, and acts involving animals other than humans just to name a few. What I learned from this assignment was like I stated earlier learning about aggression and comparing what I thought I knew about aggression and how aggression is demonstrated in different ways and situations. What I learned also was from this assignment was that possibly aggression in some cases can be prevent if you are strong enough to seek professional help to deal with some aggression that you demonstrated to others. Lastly what I also learned about aggression base on the assignment was that aggression doesn’t have to always be done by humans it can be done my non living humans and in some cases it can be instinctual behavior. My knowledge was expanded on this associated topic by making me step back and think about my personal life of aggression, is aggression shown and demonstrated in my everyday life or not. And for me personally do I show some aggression without knowing in my everyday life to friends and family that I have contact with on a everyday with my actions or words.

My reason for showing this picture and it’s relevant to my post is that this picture represents aggression we may experience from our everyday life from someone cuts us off in traffic and we yell at them and show some aggression either by yelling or blowing the horn and saying some choosy words at that driver. Or another example someone does something to you and you want to some your displeasure with some aggression back to them and in some cases with some aggression.  These are my reason why I chose this picture and how this picture can be relevant to my post.

Artifact #2

The archive I chose to place as my top artifact is Module eight archive. This archive was about stereotypes basic on ethic/racial groups and the adjectives you may choose to describe them basic on your stereotypes and opinions about this particular group. Also this archive was about do we believe stereotypes about people have changed over time.  The reason why I chose this archive is because I feel like their are still stereotypes still being place on certain ethic groups even though our country is being more diverse and inclusive. But you would think because of that those stereotypes would be least prevalent now than they were years ago. Some of the reasons why I liked this particular archive was because one we had the opportunity to in a way use the adjectives that were giving to us and place them in the category(ethic group) that we thought fit and represent that particular group. From that we in a way showed and demonstrated our our personal stereotypes. And from that I also liked how we could compare our answers to others from the results with those found by Katz and Braly (1933) and Gilbert (1951) survey. The last reason why I liked this archive was for me personally to express the frustration and in some cases the angry of how some people in the media can make us as the viewers had some concerns and dislikes base on stereotypes especially when it comes to brown and black people or people with melatonin skin tone.  When it comes to what I learned in from this archive is that we have some some strong and unbiases stereotypes about people that we don’t have daily contact with and from these biases they can hinder you from making strong connections and in some cases friendships. This archive expanded my knowledge by not letting what I read or see through other people eyes and opinions on how I categorized or stereotype another ethic group or racial group that is different than mine. Plain and simple get to know that person from that different background/ethic group from your first hand experience and interactions.

Reason why I chose this photo is because this picture shows the diversity this country can is and  becoming and by that hopefully with more inclusion, communication amongst us that those stereotypes can be lessen.  This picture is relevant to what wrote because with stereotypes their will always be divisiveness and unbias opinions about people from different ethic/racial groups. But working together to get to know each other can possibly lead to less stereotypes amongst us.

Artifact #1

The archive I chose to place as my top artifact is Module three archive. This is one pertaining to “similarity leads to attraction”.  The reason why I liked this particular archive is as follows. I got to the opportunity to hear some thoughts and opinions from my family and friends on this particular topic/subject. And from that I got a wide variety of opinions and thoughts. Another reason why I liked this archived item the most is because of my thoughts when it comes to the question of does opposites attract or does similarity leads to attraction? And I wanted to see if I was corrected or not base on the feedback I received from this assignment.  And does my inner circle of family and friends share some of those same opinions and thoughts I have. Lastly the reason why I liked this archive is because it made me step back and look at my own relationship (marriage) about do our similarities lead to attraction or was it the opposites that lead to our attraction to each other. When it comes to what I have learned I feel like attraction in some cases that your dislikes might bring on some type of attraction. What I also learned from the people I talked to is that similarity does leads to attraction overwhelming everyone said that you want to have some type of common interest with your partner from sports like and religious beliefs just to name a few. Lastly what I learned is that having common interest can be beneficial in a relationship to keep the relationship afloat. This activity has expanded my knowledge on this topic by making me more aware that having an attraction for someone can be very interesting and complex when it comes to having similarities and opposite likes and beliefs. Also, this topic has expanded my knowledge when it comes to being more open to try things(activities) that my wife might like which would possibly bring on more attraction to me.

I chose this picture Yin and Yang symbol because of the belief when it comes to the yin and yang the opposites attract and I felt like this picture would be a good symbol of when it comes to opposites attract. Another reason why I chose this picture is because of opposites or in this case opposites beliefs and likes coming together for a better cause like in a marriage/relationship.
