The relationship between Self-Regulation and Emotional Intelligence can be defined as Self-Regulation making up one of the three most important areas of personal skills, that help to create/makeup Emotional Intelligence. Emotional Intelligence helps one to create meaningful and emotional bonds with those around you, such as in the classroom, at the workplace, with a romantic partner, as well as those in your family. Emotional Intelligence also helps one to achieve their goals that have set in life to help them ultimately to succeed. Self-Regulation also correlates with this because it makes one more aware of their emotions as well as their strengths and weaknesses. Emotional Intelligence means to me as a way of taking a minute and breathing when I am feeling overwhelmed or stressed out. I do not like for my negative emotions to affect those around me, so I will take a minute to myself to breathe and reflect on my emotions and then focus them on the positivity in the situation rather than the negative. My EQ is not perfect by any means, and I feel as though that I could improve it by becoming more aware of my emotions earlier on rather than becoming aware of them when it is almost too late.
