I would focus my career in Implementation and Operation, specifically something similar to a Systems Security Analyst because it aligns with my interests in ensuring the security of complex systems. I like this role because it involves a blend of technical and analytical skills, which I find exciting (as I’m always learning). Developing, testing, and managing security aspects of systems is not only challenging but also critical to protecting organizational assets. I’m particularly drawn to the opportunity to work on the integration and maintenance of security measures, which allows for continuous learning and adaptation to new threats.

The area that appeals the least to me is Investigation. While I admire the importance of conducting cybersecurity investigations and analyzing digital evidence, I’ve realized I’m not great at finding clues or piecing together details from fragmented information. My strengths lie more in proactive security measures rather than forensic analysis, so I would prefer to focus on roles that are more preventive and operational rather than investigative. (Although I did take a class at NVCC on digital forensics, I’m still not too confident in my ability to do it in a real-world situation.)
