About Me

My name is Mahyra Miller. I like to describe myself as hardworking, passionate, and intelligent. I enjoy learning new things and applying what I’ve learned. I’m currently a certified EMT and Medical Assistant. I currently work in a clinic as a Medical Assistant. I’m also in school, at the moment, to be a Nail Technician. I do nails for several reasons including, they’re beautiful and an amazing way for an individual to express themselves, they’re an escape from the stress that is endured by day-to-day activities, such as work and school and lastly it’s fun! I enjoy helping others and making people feel better about themselves because it makes me feel as though I am doing my part in society.

Currently, I am a transfer student enrolled at Old Dominion University with an intended Psychology Major. My Long-Term career goal is to become a Nurse Practitioner or even a Physician Assistant. I’m unsure what I would like to specialize in, but I’ve always been interested in Neonatology. I was originally enrolled at Virginia Commonwealth University looking to pursue a Nursing career. Unfortunately, I did not get accepted into the Nursing program, so I decided to change my path of HOW I was going to become a Nurse. I’m not quick to give up; I just look for an alternate route. That is what I have done when it comes to my dream career. I will be a Medical Provider in the end.
