Greetings! My name is Sally Maize and this is my second year attending ODU. My goal is to officially declare my major in psychology by the end of this year, 2022. I want to get my bachelor’s degree and upon completion, I plan to apply my knowledge in the field of social work or become a professional counselor. I would like to eventually continue my studies and obtain my masters especially if it is preferred for the field that I want to pursue. I am taking this class because I believe the material in this class will be applicable to my potential career choices. As a social worker or counselor I will be exposed to different cultures and I would like to be able to properly navigate those cultures in a professional setting. Also, as a military spouse, I will find myself constantly on the move every 3 years. Being knowledgeable in different cultures enhanced by the exposure in those places will aid in helping me expand my resume and become a better prospect for work in different areas both geographically and professionally.
