Hello! My name is Makayla Thomas, and I’m a Junior at Old Dominion University. I’m majoring in Cybersecurity to become a Cybersecurity Specialist. I was born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia, and have lived here all my life. As a Cybersecurity Specialist, my primary responsibilities will be preventing and stopping breaches in computer systems and networks and ensuring that all confidential information within my company remains secure. I chose Cybersecurity as my major because it’s a broad field that will keep me intellectually stimulated. In Cybersecurity, you constantly learn, and the constant changes will keep me from feeling stagnant.
