Hello all! My name is Kenna McClure. I am currently attending school at Old Dominion University. I am majoring in English with a concentration is journalism. During my free time, I enjoy writing in a personal journal before beginning my day. I write about what current is going on in my life, what I have been doing in school, my goals and aspirations, and bucket list plans. After I graduate from college, I plan to teach english to middle school students. In High School, I worked with many kids in a program called “Best Buddies”. This is a program dedicated to students with disabilities. I spent time after school helping these students with homework as well as doing activities on special holidays. This program is what prompted my drive to be a teacher in the future.

After so many years after High School, I am still in contact with my designated buddy who I worked with for four years. Although I had one specific buddy, I created very strong connections with each individual member of the club in order to make everyone feel welcome and appreciated. When I graduate and begin teaching, I would like to get involved in another program similar to best buddies as a staff member of the school I find myself teaching at.
