On the website you can see the laws that each state have for notifying people of a breach. This includes policies that state when a person needs to be notified, how a person is notified, what happens when a company doesn`t notify consumers, etc. Along with that there is a downloadable spreadsheet that shows different breaches shows a variety of information about different breaches. It details the year when the breach occurred, what company it came from, the type of breach, the type of company it came from, the date the breach was made publicly known, and what happened during the breach. Researchers could use this information to try and find patterns in order to try and better prepare for future breaches in hopes to lessen the effect and/or prevent the breach entirely.
