With storing electronic information there can be a few ethical issues that can pop up. One main issue could be that someone gets a hold of the data that is being stored. The person can use the information for the wrong things which would cause trouble for the person who is being stolen from. This can happen when someone with access to this information misuses their power to obtain and share information they are not supposed to. Another ethical issue is the accuracy about the information that a person inputs to store. If they are not all true and correct, then it will throw off the records that are being saved about the person. Technology online can also change the information itself sometimes too. This will falsify the information that is supposed to be true. When submitting information online there is always a long list of terms that you are supposed to accept. But there are fine prints in there that no one takes the time to read. One of the ethical issues in there is the right to access the private data freely. Another problem is the ownership of the data content, in the fine print it could say that someone is not able to own their own data. But no one would know because we do not want to go through the page and take our time because of how much information there is. So we all just lazily accept the terms even if it is our personal data that is being used within the program/website. Although these are only a few problems, the biggest one is someone getting a persons information and using it for their own good and causing the person to have to claim identity theft which can turn into many more problems for the future.
