Implementing information security controls: now or later? Delay discounting of
losses and gain
My article was about cybercrimes. The main idea was how organizations were
dealing with this huge crime which has major financial consequence.
Organizations are fighting cybersecurity to protect their asset. Organization have
to make a serious decision to invest their money to protect the organization.
Banks fight an everyday struggle to protect clients account from hackers
breaking to steal personal information so they can withdraw funds. The
government has more serious concerns since cybercriminals may get access to
sensitive information which can jeopardize our national security. I think America
should establish an agency just to fight protect and bring strict punishment for
the criminals.

Article 2

Cyberbullying is another way of gossiping electronically to harm a person physically and mentally, using
electronic devices. Over the last 15 years, cyberbullying has become a major problem to the extent
government has been involved in monitoring, regulating,g and punishing the criminals. Since it is easier
and safer for perpetrator, bullying has been popular in the recent years. For the victims, it becomes a
major problem since communication is online and accessed on a platform where it can be accessed
worldwide. Sometimes cyberbullying can be cruel message, video, and image. The content is to make
the victim to feel shame and embarrass of oneself. Study shows the most negatively concerning
cyberbullying was video images of the victim and the perpetrator linking the victim to the video. Followed
the video is a threat to the victim by demanding a favor in an exchange for the video to be deleted from
platforms.
According to article wrote by: International Journal of Cyber Criminology. Cyberbullying has a direct link
with suicide.
“Scientists are increasingly investigating the link between cyberbullying and suicide rates. A study found
that 19.7% of females and 20.9% of males were seriously considering suicide, while 17% attempted
it. Cyberbullying prevalence rates ranged from 9.1% to 23.1%, with victimization rates ranging from 5.7%
to 18.3%(Hinduja et al., 2019).”
Cyberbullying is linked to suicide, which is another word called cyberbullicide. Suicide is directly linked to
mental issues for 90%. Cyberbullying is meant to make the victim feel depressed, ashamed, lose
confidence, and make lonely. The government has taken some steps to minimize the impact of public
bullying victims on the internet. Yet, such horrific crime has not been controlled since the government
doesn’t have the manpower to monitor and punish all the criminals. Cyberbullying is popular among
young people in college especially.
This kind of behavior can only be managed by individuals and caregivers to young kids. We can educate
young kids and train them to learn to block individuals who continue to negatively impact their well-being.
I am wishing also service providers can provide apps to better monitor unknow messengers and people
who are repeated offenders of such online platform misbehaviors.
