Writing is an art that everyone needs to have to be successful in life. You use writing skills every day and they’re important for everything. You need them to get a job to everyday things like texting on your phone. I’ve always thought I was an average writer with certain strengths in most areas with a few weaknesses here and there. I believe my strengths lay at that I have a good idea to put on a paper and a good grasp how the paper should be formatted to make it flow together. But on the other hand, I have weakness usually just with my spelling and grammar errors. This is common for a lot of people, and with anything can be fixed with time and practice. You also need a good teacher to guide you through your mistakes to help you grow from them. Practice makes perfect and the only way to get better at writing is to write papers. In High School, I would write two papers a year, with little comments back not truly knowing what I needed to work on. Knowing I didn’t spend a lot of time writing I was scared for college writing. I thought the transition from high school writing to college was going to be a reality check. In fact, I am not as far of as I thought, with just a few adjustments to make here and there. To expand my writing skills, I need to take advantage of my resources like my personal writing tutors and the internet that can help me fix my spelling and grammar mistakes. The first six weeks of writing for college success we have been proactive on getting better at writing and we will continue to do so till there are minim mistakes as possible. I am comfortable with this new style of learning and eager to see my writing skills develop to a new level.
