What is design thinking?
1. Design thinking is the process used to understand various variables when creating
a design such as understanding the user, types of challenges, defining problems,
and coming up with solutions. This type of thinking can be broken down to five
phases: empathizing, defining, ideate, prototype, and test. Utilizing this method of
thinking is a great nonlinear way to address and solve problems and to inspire
creativity and innovation.

  1. How has design thinking influenced a product I use?
    a. A product that I used that utilizes design thinking regularly would be the
computer software Steam. Anytime they release a new software update they have
to go through the five phases. They first empathize with their clients on what their
needs may be as well as understanding the wants of their clients. Next, set and
define any problems that need to be solved in update, such as quality of life or
security issues. Next, they ideate on how to solve the problems. Finally, they drew
up a prototype of the software and tested it on their test clients.
  2. What are the connections between opportunities and planning?
    a. The connections between opportunities and planning situate around things that are
core to your idea or design. These connections are simple instrumental: what is do
you want your idea to do, what do your stakeholders want you to do, and how do
you accomplish what is to be done. Idea, requested purpose, and how to
accomplish it. Having these three components listed of a idea or design can lead
    to a successful venture.
  3. What opportunities have I missed?
    a. There have been various opportunities that I have missed over the years that I do
regret to this day. Not following up with a neighbor in a dream career I wanted is
one that sticks out to me. There have been various job opportunities that I never
capitalized on. Extra training and certification courses that were or are available
to me for reduced or no cost that I don’t utilize. All of these things are
opportunities that I have missed or didn’t utilize. What I have gained from this is
to try pursue any opportunity that comes my way so I don’t have regret like these
    other missed opportunities.
  4. Can a successful venture be unethical?
    a. A successful venture can be entirely unethical. Utilizing different practices or
hiding unethical behavior can lead to success especially if it’s utilized to
maximize the purpose of that venture. Keeping anything that may be unethical
becomes a challenge for some ventures because it becomes a liability. Unethical behavior can absolutely ruin a reputation or the profits of a venture if found out by those who are unaware of it.
