Am I an Entrepreneur? a. While I don’t view myself as an entrepreneur right now, I do believe that I have the entrepreneurship mindset. Problem solving, innovating, and creativity are key parts to being an entrepreneur. From my past experiences, I typically would take this mindset and apply it to solving a problem within that organization or to whatever aspect of my life that I was solving. Even though I haven’t had experience in the entrepreneurship realm, I look forward to building my current skills with the outlook of being an entrepreneur.
What is success? a. Success can mean a variety of different things to different people, but for an entrepreneur, success is to have a cost-effective idea, product, or solution that addresses or solves its specific problem. The entire entrepreneurial process requires multiple successes towards its end goal, such as testing or writing a business plan. These various successes may alter the vision of that entrepreneur but it still achieves the intended purpose.
Am I a self-starter? How well do I follow through on my ideas? a. I am a self-starter when I want to solve or accomplish something. Growing up, I tried to keep a goal-oriented mindset through school up until I went to college. Even when I found out I was going to be a father I kept my goals in mind while making sure a good course of action was in place for my family. While lately I have felt as I don’t follow through on my ideas due to other pressing things, I like to believe that soon I can still accomplish my goals and ideas with my family.

This approach pairs well with ODU’s other value of exploring entrepreneurship through diversity and interdisciplinary studies as they can combine ideas and strengths to better achieve their goal.
What is my role in this ecosystem? a. My role is to offer myself and contribute to this ecosystem that we live in. Offering one’s self is a very noble thing I believe that can take place in various forms. Coming up with a great idea and having the public utilize it, whether in a small or big way, can sustain or improve people’s lives. I hope that in some way I can provide something meaningful to society that makes people’s lives better.
