Essay 2

After we had submitted our initial proposal we felt good where we were at in terms of initial aspects. But, we were shocked by the scores we got for each of the proposals. We weren’t sure where we should go with the product at that point. We were considering going back to a cybersecurity game idea or something new entirely. Due to midterms and hectic schedules during the fall semester we each met individually with Amanne at some point. When I met with her we  tried brainstorming about new stuff and went over with me ideas that she had heard from group members when she met with them.

Following the craziness of October, we eventually met with  Professor Akeyla Porcher to go over what we were missing from our initial proposals and if we should salvage our idea or scrape it and go to a new one. The meeting went really well. Professor Porcher explained to us that our proposals were each different in terms of where we wanted our product to go. She also provided us with recommendations on how to make our product successful, such as monetization and marketing options, as well as providing reassurance that we were on the right track.

After that meeting, we were motivated to excel at this project. We came up with various ideas of what to do to improve our product, such as having our target market being the elderly and marketing ideas. We also looked into various ways of bringing something unique to our project. We looked at possibly making it into a non-profit organization or having it marketed towards becoming a governmental program. All of these fell threw, but, it gave us a lot of creativity in terms of what we wanted from our project. This conversating about our project didn’t stop at our group calls, however. We would regularly text in a group chat to each other about various ideas, questions, or concerns that we had. This gave a great sense of comradery and collaboration!

Here is a screenshot from when we met with Professor Porcher. Overall, we came out of this meeting feeling confident!
Here is our notes immediately after the meeting. We made sure we were on the same pages in terms of fundamentals for the project.
