Artifact 5
Artifact 5 was still one of my favorites, but the least of my favorites. This one focused on The Self Across Situations. I wrote down 5 of my main traits and put them into a situation where that trait would be prominent. I honestly found it hard to find 5 traits about me that make their way into my life on a daily/weekly basis. By filling this out, I saw that there was much more substance to me than just anxiety in which I believe makes up 95% of who I am. It was nice to see how little things I do throughout the day require different traits and in different ways. Below I inserted my list of traits and their respective situations.

Artifact 4
Artifact 4 is the craigslist search on desirable qualities of same sex and opposite sex partners. This activity was very cool to me, because I have never looked on craigslist in this section before, and I honestly was always scared to because I didn’t know what I would find. I found it interesting how many ads were placed specifically for looking for someone to just talk to and chat about life with, while not all of them were this way, it was good to see the wholesome ads.

Artifact 3
Artifact 3 was about Self- and Other-Enhancement in Everyday Life. This section had me a little confused, but I think the worksheet helped me out a lot. I liked this activity because as important self-enhancement is, I believe other-enhancement is just as important. Other-enhancement can help during an interview, and getting your employer to see how invested you really are in getting a job and how interested you seem, whether its real or a facade.

Artifact 2
Artifact 2 is the attitude survey based around cognitive dissonance. I found this survey very interesting and opened my eyes to how common cognitive dissonance is. While it’s a little unsettling, I believe it to be a part of society and most people’s lives. While some people may believe a change for something like homelessness, or recycling, it doesn’t mean that person will have the ability to help or feel as if they can make a change. For me, I think recycling is a great idea, but after the trash trucks take it away, it’s out of my hands and I won’t know if it really is being recycled or just burned into our air.

Artifact 1
As my favorite assignment for “Items to Archive” I chose the one about similarity’s attract and opposites attract. I enjoyed this little activity because it showed that they both are true in their own ways, and I believe it depends on the person. For me, I see a little bit of both, but more of opposites attract. By learning about this, I learned that my husband is different than I am and some days I find myself living vicariously through him, which I love because I am socially shy and anxious. I don’t believe it’s just one or the other, but sometimes it can be a combination of both.
