social media helps sports organizations to better engage fans thus creating a a sense of community and passion. It’s this passion that translates into a loyal fanbase, which not only results in increased revenue and sales but also strengthens the brand of the sports entity. Social media is also a powerful tool for gathering feedback and insights from fans, by engaging in conversations and interactions between fans sports entities can gain valuable insights on what fans on what fans want and need and use this information to improve their brand as well as services. Sport is simultaneously a global phenomenon and a local and personal one. It is simultaneously a gigantic commercial business and a gigantic voluntary
enterprise, Sport fulfills all of these conflicting roles in global society through a multi-layered and mutually dependent relationship with the media and other commercial interests. There is no simple definition of what modern sport stands for and therefore no simple solutions to its many problems. A great of social media campaigns when it comes to mind I would personally talk about nike and how their campaigns pertain to “athletes” not necessarily a specific sport but as athletes in a whole promoting merchandise from shoes, clothes, gear, water bottles etc The variegated nature of the relations between athletes, sponsors, the media, and fans means that communications strategies of sports organisations are more differentiated than ever before, and understanding the flows of communication between the
different stakeholders is a challenge.
