With the change in sports communication accelerating over the past couple years my sports media diet has drastically changed. When I was younger I mainly got my media consumption from the news, or other broadcast like ESPN. but with the pace of technology rapidly growing I’m now able to get all my sports communication right from my phone. my man media outlets currently consist of instagram, ESPN, Ticktock, sports podcasts, as well eating apps like FanDuel and Draft-kings. Nowadays its so easy for me to be anywhere at anytime and gets updates on games and player information such as points and or injuries, I can confidently say that I follow sports media everyday as an avid fan n player of sports its just a part of my life. If there’s anything I could predict to see within the next 5 years in sports media I definitely see an expansion as sports are reaching a bigger audience, for example we just went over this in my sports management class the other day on how Taylor swifts and travis kelces relationship is all over social media even during the chiefs games they pan over to her and his family booth. Weather you want to see it or not they’ve attracted global media and that’s huge right now especially with the Super Bowl happening in 2 weeks. I can only expect the media and communication to increase even more into the future. If theres one thing I could change it would be how social media and technology allows people to be relatively close, for example sports fans can interact with players through the internet both good and bad sending hateful messages even as worse as death threats, hackers etc are all bad compotes id wish to remove but that’s just part of the emotional connection that come with the love of sports and its communication weather that being dividing people or bringing them together.
