In blog 1, I wrote about what this course is about and my expectation from taking this class. I expected to be knowledgeable of many aspects of this course after completing all the modules. For instance, I believed that after this class, I will be able to comprehend the processes through which people try to understand others. I think that I gain a better understanding of the techniques of trying to analyze and reason with how people think. Also, I also expected to learn about how behavior related to attitudes and how changes are formed. After reading the chapters, I successfully gain a better understanding on how behavior and attitudes are correlated. An individual having a certain attitude can lead to him or her behaving in such a way.

I think I have achieved the course objectives pretty well. For instance, I can not successfully identify how attitudes and behaviors are related. In addition, I can also explain how changes in society are formed. Looking back at the course objectives, I can claim that I know the origins and effects of prejudice and discrimination. Both aspects derive from a deep- seated hatred towards a group which can have many negative effects to society.

Before taking this course, I did not think that I would be interested in the topics covered. However, this class was actually one of my more intriguing and interesting classes, because the chapters and assignments made me dig deeper about certain issues in society that are easily ignored. Now, I think that Social Psychology should be a mandatory course for all psychology students, because it will only help them gain better understanding of how individuals, groups, and the society function.

If I had to take this class again, I think that I would pace myself more reasonably. I would not try to take on so many assignments at once, because it can become overwhelming and confusing. Over the last few months, I believe that I have become more organized with how I study. I have been dividing my time with classes accordingly, so that I spend enough time with each class. Also, I have gained more knowledge in this field that I will undoubtedly utilize in the future. One skill that I have gained in this class that I will use in the future with my professional career is being able to identify different ways that people try to understand others. By having this skill, I will be able to help counsel children more effectively, because I will know how they think.

I chose this image, because it shows that being able to understand how other think will complete the puzzle piece.  By being ale to comprehend an individual’s mentality can help make society function more effectively.
