Internship at Walmart as a Manager in Supply Chain-Distribution Center 7016.
My experience working for Walmart gave me positive lessons on how to manage stress, and projects, be a leader, implement solutions, find where the problems are, and collect data, among other techniques that I have learned in university. However, a large part of it was growing personally in the professional world since, before this internship, I had no experience related to my major or minor.
The project I had to develop improved my ability to make decisions, plan, organize, and analyze quantitative and qualifying data. This was based on finding a solution that is not only adjustable to the measurements of the warehouses but also where can efficiently reduce costs. The biggest challenge was getting the correct data to make the best decision and learning about every mistake I made during this experience. At the same time, being a leader and managing more than 20 people with different attitudes every day gave me positive learning, and I can put it into practice for my next job. I learned a lot and applied my knowledge in each of the steps of the assigned project. Ultimately, my happiness is that they continue to implement it, so my decision was the best to improve the warehouse environment. Amazing opportunity. If I had the opportunity to make that decision in Summer 2022, I would do it again.
