Communication Skills

One of the skills I know is necessary for my career goal is language. I am fortunate enough to be able to speak two languages fluently. I speak Tagalog, one of the dialects spoken in the Philippines. I can communicate verbally and in writing. English is the second language in the Philippines. I learned how to speak English when I started my formal education. Many people from Asian countries study English in the Philippines before they immigrate to another country. I decided to learn French independently when I immigrated to the United States. I can speak and understand basic French. When my family and I immigrated to the United States, most of the neighbors we had were Latinos. Spanish influenced the Tagalog language because the Philippines was under the colonialism of the Spaniards for hundreds of years. Some of the Tagalog words are the same as Spanish words. I cannot say I am as fluent in Spanish, but I am able to communicate in Spanish better than in French.
