Exploring Culture

During this course, LingoHub helped me out a lot by providing me with tools to study and work on things I was not confident in. I am grateful for this course as it has taught me about many different Spanish speaking cultures and showed me how different countries do things. I also learned a lot about the language itself.

Engaging in Communities

It is very important to engage in different communities around the world. Not only is it interesting, but you could find something that you really enjoy that you never would have known you liked until you explored outside of your own culture.

Interpersonal Communication

The TalkAbroad conversation were very helpful to me. They were very nerve raking but also extremely fun to do. During my interviews, I was able to hear words and phrases I was not used to and hear how my partners did certain things in their country.

Overall, I think the TalkAbroad conversations should be in every language class because they make you talk and listen which is the best way to learn a language in my opinion. After each of my interviews, I knew I came out of there with more knowledge then I went in with and that is a great feeling to have.

Presentational Speaking

After each project, presenting to the class was helpful in a way where I would speak the words I had on my project and also listen to my classmates and interpret what they were saying. The project that we did where we had to talk during the project were the ones that taught me the most and gave me more knowledge.

Presentational Writing

The flyers that we created were very helpful to me. I gained skills in Spanish that can help me later on in life if I ever run into a time where I need to put out information to a Spanish speaker. I believe I did a great job with my flyers but of course there is always need for some improvement.

Interpretive Listening

During this semester I learned a lot from listening. Throughout the modules we did, listening to the professor talk, and something simple such as changing my tv to Spanish. All of these things were a great factor in my comprehension of the language.

Interpretive Reading

I read a few articles that were in Spanish for some of the assignments. My favorite one was reading about what type of foods were most popular in other Spanish speaking countries. As I love food myself, I am always curious to try and learn what food is eaten and how it is prepared differently in other countries.
