AI is one of the latest emerging tools to implemented on the cybersecurity front. It is able to be utilized in both defensive and offensive capabilities. An example of this would be in the creation of elaborate phishing emails that can be distributed to thousands of companies and each filled with information that is unique to each company that is receiving it. This works in a similar vein to grammar correction and autofill technology that has already existed for quite some time. Considering that 94% of cyberattacks begin with email, it is predictable that this particular vector of attack will be utilized to the greatest possible extent, and any technology that can increase the chance of a successful infection is a major boon to attackers. Like a lot of technology, AI is a double-edged sword both capable of enriching life and helping destroy it.
