CYSE 406

CYSE 406 introduced me to the legal side of cybersecurity. The course covered how laws, regulations, and court decisions shape the way organizations handle data, respond to incidents, and protect users. I learned how privacy law, intellectual property, cybercrime, and digital evidence work in real situations. The class helped me understand how technical decisions connect to legal responsibilities in the workplace. It also pushed me to think about how policy, ethics, and security overlap when dealing with sensitive information.

This course is useful for my career because cybersecurity work is never only technical. Every decision around data, access, and security connects to legal risk. CYSE 406 gave me the foundation to understand how compliance works and what companies are responsible for when handling sensitive information. It also taught me how to think ahead and identify where legal issues might appear in real workflows. This helps me operate more confidently in data driven environments and prepares me for roles where security, policy, and accountability all matter.
