Skill #1 – Data Processing and Analysis
Data processing and analysis is the skill I use the most in my actual job. Working with PHI and PII at Preferred Direct taught me how to handle large datasets, clean information, check for errors, and understand why accuracy matters in a real business environment. This skill grew from both my coursework and my full-time work experience. I learned how to read data, catch mistakes fast, and follow compliance rules while still meeting deadlines.
Artifact 1: CYSE 368 Internship Final Report
This report shows the work I did as a Mail Data Specialist and Analyst. I processed secure client data, used BCC Mail Manager and PostalOne, and followed HIPAA and HITRUST guidelines. It also shows how I learned to troubleshoot issues and manage high volume jobs. This artifact proves that I can apply data skills in an actual work setting and not just in a classroom.
Artifact 2: Data Merge Workflow Example
This artifact is a screenshot of a real data merge I ran at Preferred Direct. It shows how I clean data, remove duplicates, fix address formatting, and prepare information for production. It represents the daily work I do with Excel, BCC, and other tools to make sure the data is correct before it moves to printing and mailing. Due to policy and legal regulations I can not show the actual data of what I do, below is an example. The real thing is PHI and is protected by HIPAA.

Artifact 3: CYSE 425W HIPAA Strategy Paper
This paper breaks down HIPAA rules and explains why compliance matters in data environments. It connects directly to my job because I work with PHI every day. This artifact shows that I understand both the technical and policy side of data handling. It also shows my ability to analyze standards and explain how they impact business operations.
Skill #2 – Technical Writing and Communication
Technical writing and communication is a skill I built through both my classes and my internship. I learned how to explain complex ideas in a clear and organized way. This skill shows up in my academic work, where I write research papers and theory essays, and in my job, where I document processes and communicate issues to my team. Being able to write well makes everything easier, especially in cybersecurity where accuracy and clarity matter.
Artifact 1: ENGL 211C Research Paper
This assignment shows my ability to write a structured and well researched paper on AI and data privacy. I learned how to organize ideas, cite sources correctly, and explain technical topics in a way that anyone can understand. This paper demonstrates my ability to communicate clearly while still sounding professional.
Artifact 2: IDS 300W Interdisciplinary Essay
This essay required me to connect perspectives from policy, ethics, technology, and society. It taught me how to write across different fields and blend ideas together. The writing process helped me think deeper about how technology affects people and how to communicate those thoughts in a direct and logical way.
Artifact 3: CYSE 368 Internship Journals
These journals show my ability to document my work experiences clearly. I explained problems I faced, how I solved them, and what I learned. This helped me practice communicating technical issues without overcomplicating anything. These entries reflect how I write in a real workplace setting and how I keep track of my progress.
Skill #3 – Project Management and Leadership
Project management and leadership became a strong skill for me through group work in my classes and through real responsibilities at my job. I learned how to stay organized, take initiative, and make sure tasks get done the right way. This skill shows up in how I manage deadlines, communicate with teams, and step in when something needs leadership or direction. I like taking responsibility and making sure the work moves forward.
Artifact 1: AI Ethics and Governance Presentation
This group project shows how I helped plan and structure a full presentation. I organized research, made sure everyone stayed on the same page, and helped shape the final product. This artifact represents how I manage tasks and guide a team toward a finished outcome.

Artifact 2: CYSE 368 Interview Reflection
This assignment shows my ability to communicate professionally and learn from others in the workplace. Interviewing my coworker Kayla helped me understand more about how our team works and what leadership looks like day to day. It also shows how I take initiative to ask questions and stay engaged with the work environment.
Artifact 3: Cybersecurity Case Study
This case study represents how I analyze a scenario, break it down into key issues, and propose solutions that make sense. It shows my ability to think ahead, judge risk, and explain my reasoning clearly. Case studies require organization, problem solving, and the ability to guide a situation toward a practical outcome, all of which connect to project management and leadership skills.
