1. Describe five businesses or non-profits that have been created in my field.

CrowdStrike is a cybersecurity company that focuses on endpoint protection. They utilize cloud-
based technologies and artificial intelligence to provide threat intelligence, endpoint security, and
incident response services. Palo Alto Networks is known for its advanced firewall solutions and
comprehensive cybersecurity platform. They provide a range of products and services, including
firewalls, endpoint protection, cloud security, and threat intelligence. Darktrace is an AI-powered
cybersecurity company that specializes in using machine learning and artificial intelligence to detect
and respond to cyber threats in real-time. Fortinet is a global provider of network security appliances
and services. They offer a range of cybersecurity solutions, including firewalls, secure wireless
access points, endpoint protection, and threat intelligence. Check Point is a cybersecurity company
that offers a suite of products and services for network security, cloud security, and mobile security.
Their solutions include firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, threat intelligence, and security
management tools.

2. What is your overall perspective on the entrepreneurship experience?

The entrepreneurship experience has required a lot of out of the box thinking. It has required the
creation of a unique solution that can solve a complex problem. This often takes an interdisciplinary
approach to both completely understand the problem and to implement a solution that solves it. This
creative approach to solving complex issues have given me a greater appreciation for entrepreneurs.

3. How did the entrepreneurship prepare or not prepare you to be a competitive candidate for
vacant positions?

The entrepreneurship has prepared me to be a competitive candidate for vacant positions by showing
me that displaying my skills is the best method to attract employers. Creating a project that I can use
to highlight related skills allows employers to recognize me work ethic and creativity. When a vacant position is being sought after by many candidates it is important to step out of the crowd and put your
skills on display. Employers are eager to find passionate employees who can bring their talents to
their businesses.

4. What suggestions do you have to improve the experience?

I believe allowing this project to be completed as an individual project would improve the
experience. It is difficult to align 4 different schedules especially for those who are remote students in
different states. Most of the project is completed on an individual bases due to wanting to
individually assess each student. However, adding a group aspect in my opinion does not add any
additional value.

5. What’s next for you?

I will be looking to skills and certifications that I have earned and start a new career. I am unsure
where I will end up, but I am excited to start a new chapter. I have been working in the Navy
while attending a technical school at night to earn IT certificates while also attending completing
fulltime course load at ODU for the last couple of months. I am eager to put my talents to use
and take on a new challenge. I am also ready to let off the gas a little and spend more time with
my family and less time on my laptops.
