History Of Chesapeake

The city of Chesapeake has had a long standing history from Native Americans to the colonial English. South Norfolk can trace it’s beginnings to 1929, and possibly earlier as a sub community within Norfolk. It was not until 1963 that city officials and county members officially created the municipality that is Chesapeake Virginia. The city itself has grown from residential and agricultural land to the success and urbanized area it is today. With city officials promoting the city to new businesses and young people from Hampton roads, the city is on a fast pace to begin creating a cityscape of its own that might even rival Norfolk or Virginia Beach.

While other portions of the city, in less desirable neighborhoods, have seen little to no spending to improve community life.
