Exploring Culture
Lingrolearning and YouTube videos impacted my knowledge of Spanish-speaking countries the most. The content in each module was precise and never left out a single detail.

My second favorite thing that I learned about was the different sports Spanish countries like to play. There seems to be a similar interest in basketball and soccer when compared to the United States. It was nice to dissect other people’s interests, and compare them to my own.
Engaging in Communities
Being able to engage with my community is extremely important to me. Being an Indigenous women, I have strong ties to my reservation and village. Being a part of this community builds my identity and helps me understand who I am. I do not have very strong ties to my Hispanic culture. However, there are many components that tie together with my Native American culture. From the food, to celebrations, I am able to stay in tune with who I am through my communities of Indigenous peoples.
Interpersonal Communication and Presentational Speaking
The Flipgrid assignments helped me the most. This particular assessment challenged me in oral communication. I was able to answer the instructor’s questions precisely while engaging with details.
I also verbally communicated with other students using Flipgrid. I feel that I excelled the most in these assignments. I was able to analyze and thoroughly investigate other students’ responses to enhance my own pronunciation. Presenting myself in a Spanish-speaking format was fun. I learned a lot from the Flipgrid assignments and wish there was more during the semester!
I was able to overcome the challenges of understanding a foreign language by practicing and listening to Spanish music. Then, I was able to quickly figure out the correct way of saying a word. If given another opportunity, I would try to incorporate more of my understandings from Lingrolearning to my Flipgrid assessments.
Presentational Writing

These activities enhanced my spelling in Spanish. It also help with my memorization. These writing topics were in every module. I was able to overcome the difficulties of understanding Spanish by writing frequently throughout the course. I excelled most in descriptions because they were the easiest for me to correlate to other words.
