It was a cool autumn morning. You are in class, next to your best friend, Max Caulfield. You two are students at the prestigious school, Blackwell Academy, which is located in Arcadia Bay, Oregon. The day was Monday. October 7th, 2015. You and Max are currently sitting in your photography class with your well-known, highly admired professor, Mark Jefferson. The morning feels normal; you are discussing the creation of “selfies,” and everyone is having a great time. The class bell rings, signifying that class has ended; you and Max decide to walk to the restroom to put some water on your face and prepare for the day ahead. While you and Max are drying your faces up, you can hear aggressive footsteps walk toward the restroom door. You and Max quickly hide behind the stalls. Nathan Prescott, a son from the richest family of Arcadia Bay, walks in. He checked the stalls to make sure that the room was empty. He grabbed his head and began talking to himself in the mirror; “It’s cool, Nathan… Don’t stress… You’re okay, bro. Just count to three… Don’t be scared… You own this school… If I wanted, I could blow it up… You’re the boss…”. You and Max look at each other, scared of what is about to happen. You hear another set of footsteps enter the bathroom. You lean over to take a peek; a girl with short blue hair walks in, checking to see if the room was empty, telling Nathan that she was wanting to talk about business. You and Max are curious to see what happens next; you both wait patiently for more details. She threatens him by threatening to tell everyone about Nathan selling drugs and other various crimes that he and his family have committed. Nathan pulls a gun out of his waistband and begins to wave it around. Nathan starts to raise his voice; he moves the gun towards the woman’s stomach. You and Max start to look around, trying to find something to break the glass off of the fire alarm. While you are looking, you hear a loud “bang!” You look behind the stall and see the woman lying on the bathroom floor, blood pouring out from under her. Max comes from behind the stall and shouts “No!” raising her right hand as if she could stop the event from happening. As soon as her right hand was raised, everything was erased. Everything became a blur. You remember the incident that had occurred, but you and Max are back in the photography classroom, sitting in your seats. You both look at each other, incredibly confused and worried, trying to figure out what happened and how you both came back to this point. In the quietest, yet loudest whisper she could, Max says, “Did I just rewind time?”
You are both sitting there, frozen, trying to figure out what is going on. The class begins to talk about “selfies” and how they were created. Every word was the exact same from the previous discussion. As soon as the bell rings, you both immediately run to the restroom and repeat every step to see if the previous events occur again. You put water on your faces, you look in the mirror, and you hear those familiar footsteps from before. Nathan walks in again, talking to himself angrily. The woman walks back in, eager to talk about their business. Instead of waiting around and listening, Max pushes the janitor’s cart, revealing a miniature hammer. She picks it up and sets off the fire alarm. Before Nathan can shoot, the woman is able to defend herself. She knees Nathan in the stomach, causing him to fall on the floor and giving her enough time to open the door and make her swift escape. He quickly picks the gun up and shoves it into his jacket pocket before leaving the restroom. You and Max look at each other, proud of yourselves for being able to rewind time and save that girl. You both hug and quickly exit the bathroom to meet the rest of your classmates outside.
