Savannah Dyer

I am technically from Manassas Virginia but I grew up in Norfolk and spent most of my summers here. I chose ODU for its nursing program and I wanted to stay in the familiar Norfolk/Hampton Roads area. In my free time, if I get any; I am usually at color guard practice, riding my motorcycle, or sleeping. I am the oldest of three. I have three dogs, a mini pig and six chickens

Ariana Montemayor

I graduated high school in Fairfax Virginia, but am originally from Texas. I decided to become a Monarch because of the well renowned nursing program, location, and clinical opportunities in the area. In my free time I enjoy watching movies with friends, volunteering, and talking to my family on the phone. I have two younger sisters but some would argue that my middle sister is my identical twin. My family has a guinea pig, parakeet, and kitten. I am also a huge Disney fan and love going to Disney World. I gained a lot of new information from this project and was surprised by the use of anesthesia throughout the country before, during, and after the Civil War.

Corrine Coccimiglio

I am from Poquoson Virginia, it is a very small town only about 12,000 people. I chose ODU because of the nursing program and this is where I have said I’ve wanted to go since I was only 8 years old. During time when I’m not in class or doing assignments I like to hangout with friends, go to rowing practice, and watch movies with my family. I have two older brothers, a cat, and a dog. In the making of this website I learned a lot about how military hospitals became a huge impact during and after the Civil War. When I was in grade school I did baton twirling for 11 years and placed top 10 in multiple events at the national competition that was held at The University of Norte Dame in Indiana.

I grew up in northern Alaska and moved to Virginia in 2005. After I graduated high school I took a gap year and moved in with family in San Diego. I moved back to Norfolk, Va this summer to attend Old Dominion. I picked ODU because it was financially the best decision for me. I enjoy crafts and swimming in the ocean. I learned that Memorial Day was established on my birth day, May 30. I have one younger sister, one cat, one parakeet, 5 chickens, and 40,000 bees. In the 5th grade I was the president of my elementary school.
