I do not have a strong interest in cybersecurity, and I only took this class because I had to, but using the little information I know about it and reading the course description made me want to take this class. From being with my father and watching the news so often, I see so many stories about cyber threats and attacks on the government, small businesses, and even children being put at risk. From watching the news, a lot more cyber crimes are happening than usual because of the growing use of digital products. New products and software are constantly being made, and keeping up with the growing digital age can be hard. This is why they are growing so much; there are so many things to look out for, and it can be hard to keep up. I like cybersecurity because it protects people’s personal information and networks and informs them of the dangers of not protecting their personal information. If people know the dangers of spreading their passwords and using very easy passwords, many people will be saved from having their accounts hacked and information stolen. It also prevents people’s personal devices from potential threats from people trying to steal their information. With cybersecurity, the amount of threats posed to citizens’ personal devices keeps them safe from people trying to hack into their devices again and steal their personal information. Cybersecurity also keeps sensitive information not easily accessible to just anyone. When people have information like this, they want to make sure that not everyone can access it because it’s personal to them; having cybersecurity does this. Cybersecurity does a lot of good things in society and keeps a lot of people in their respective countries safe as a result. Without cybersecurity there would be so many threats posed to citizens and their countries as a whole.
