What is the overlap between criminal justice and cybercrime? How does this overlap relate to the other disciplines discussed in this class?

There are many overlaps between criminal justice and cybercrime. Cybercrime is an interdisciplinary study which means multiple other disciplines are formed into one. Cybercrime is a part of the criminal justice system. Criminal justice is a very broad term when it comes to, what it truly means. According to Cornell Law, provides the legal framework, processes, institutions, and regulations that are in effect prior to, throughout, and after a crime has been committed. Criminal justice, as a modern notion, expresses two essential ideas. It would seem that offenders and vulnerable persons have rights, and the other would be that criminal behavior should be prosecuted and punished by the state according to established rules. With the advancement of technology as well as the fact that society is growing increasingly reliant on computers and the internet, a new sort of crime known as cybercrime has emerged. Digital crime is another name for cybercrime. Cybercrime comprises a wide range of criminal behaviors, however, all cybercrime involves the need for a device, system, or the web to carry out illegal crimes. Because the crimes occur through devices and network connections, they are referred to as cybercrime. It’s necessary to grasp the many varieties of cybercrime in order to better grasp what cybercrime is. With that being said, cybercrime relates to the aspect of criminal justice as a whole. Criminal justice focuses on the crime occurring and how to be charged/proven until guilty, while cybercrime is stopping the online threat and convicting. Furthermore, criminal justice includes multiple things in one as I spoke about earlier, the law, the crime, etc. Cybercrime, as previously stated is an interdisciplinary study in which is combined with more than one discipline, and criminal justice is one of those included disciplines. Ultimately, I expect that as time passes, cyber security and criminal justice will become increasingly intertwined.
